अथर्ववेद 2.32 कृमि-नाशन (कीट/कृमि-विनाशक) भैषज्य-मंत्र है, जो उदित और अस्त होते आदित्य की रश्मियों को दहकते, खोजते शस्त्र के रूप में आह्वान करता है, ताकि वे भीतर के परजीवियों—विशेषतः गौ-धन को पीड़ित करने वाले—को जला कर नष्ट करें। यह सूक्त सौर-शुद्धि को अथर्वणिक ‘वाणी-औषधि’ के साथ जोड़ता है और प्रतिपादित करता है कि मंत्र का ब्रह्मन् हर प्रकार के कृमि—अन्तःस्थित, चारों ओर घेरने वाले, बड़े और छोटे—को कुचलकर बाहर निकाल देता है, जिससे प्राण-बल, स्वास्थ्य और उत्पादकता पुनः स्थापित होती है।

क्रिमिनाशनम्। उ॒द्यन्ना॑दि॒त्यः क्रिमी॑न् हन्तु नि॒म्रोच॑न् हन्तु र॒श्मिभिः॑ । ये अ॒न्तः क्रिम॑यो॒ गवि॑

कृमिनाशन। उदय होता आदित्य कृमियों को मारे; अस्त होता (आदित्य) अपनी रश्मियों से उन्हें मारे—वे कृमि जो भीतर हैं, गौ (गाय) के भीतर।

वि॒श्वरू॑पं चतुर॒क्षं क्रिमिं॑ सा॒रङ्ग॒मर्जु॑नम्। शृ॒णाम्य॑स्य पृ॒ष्टीरपि॑ वृश्चामि॒ यच्छिरः॑

विश्वरूप, चार-आँखों वाला, चितकबरा, फीका—उस कृमि को मैं चूर-चूर करता हूँ। उसकी पसलियाँ मैं तोड़ता हूँ; और उसका सिर भी काट डालता हूँ।

अ॒त्रि॒वद् वः॑ क्रिमयो हन्मि कण्व॒वज्ज॑मदग्नि॒वत्। अ॒गस्त्य॑स्य॒ ब्रह्म॑णा॒ सं पि॑नष्म्य॒हं क्रिमी॑न्

हे कृमियो, अत्रि के समान मैं तुम्हें मारता हूँ; कण्व के समान, जमदग्नि के समान। अगस्त्य के ब्रह्म (पवित्र मंत्र-बल) से मैं तुम्हें पूरी तरह पीस देता हूँ—मैं, कृमियों को, नीचे कुचल देता हूँ।

ह॒तो राजा॒ क्रिमी॑णामु॒तैषां॑ स्थ॒पति॑र्ह॒तः । ह॒तो ह॒तमा॑ता॒ क्रिमि॑र्ह॒तभ्रा॑ता ह॒तस्व॑सा

कृमियों का राजा मारा गया; और इनका गृह-स्वामी (स्थपति) भी मारा गया। कृमि मारा गया—उसकी माता मारी गई, उसका भ्राता मारा गया, उसकी स्वसा (बहन) मारी गई।

ह॒तासो॑ अस्य वे॒शसो॑ ह॒तासः॒ परि॑वेशसः । अथो॒ ये क्षु॑ल्ल॒का इ॑व॒ सर्वे॒ ते क्रिम॑यो ह॒ताः

इसके भीतर रहने वाले अतिथि-से (वेशस) मारे गए; चारों ओर घेरकर रहने वाले (परिवेशस) भी मारे गए। और जो मानो तुच्छ-से छोटे हों—वे सब के सब कृमि मारे गए।

प्र ते॑ शृणामि॒ शृङ्गे॒ याभ्यां॑ वितुदा॒यसि॑ । भि॒नाद्मि॑ ते कु॒षुम्भं॒ यस्ते॑ विष॒धानः॑

तेरे वे सींग, जिनसे तू छेदता और घाव करता है—मैं उन्हें तोड़ देता हूँ। और तेरे लिए मैं कुशुम्भ को चीर देता हूँ, जो तेरा विष-आधान (विष का पात्र) है।
