આ સંક્ષિપ્ત પૌષ્ટિક સૂક્ત ઘરેલુ સમૃદ્ધિ-મંત્રરૂપ છે, જે વ્યક્તિનું વર્ચસ્ (તેજ, સામાજિક પ્રભા) વધારીને ધનવૃદ્ધિ, સાથીઓમાં પ્રભુત્વ અને પ્રચુર સંતાનની પ્રાપ્તિ તથા સ્થિરતા સુનિશ્ચિત કરે છે. ઘીથી પોષિત અગ્નિ મુખ્ય ઉન્નતિકારક શક્તિ છે; ઇન્દ્ર પ્રતિષ્ઠા અને દીર્ઘાયુ આપે છે; સોમ અને બ્રહ્મણસ્પતિ દૈવી અનુમતિ આપી, હવિષ્ય અર્પણ દ્વારા ગૃહવૃદ્ધિને મોહર મારી દૃઢ કરે છે.

वर्चः प्राप्तिः उदे॑नमुत्त॒रं न॒याग्ने॑ घृ॒तेना॑हुत । समे॑नं॒ वर्च॑सा सृज प्र॒जया॑ च ब॒हुं कृ॑धि
વર્ચસ (તેજ)ની પ્રાપ્તિ માટે—હે અગ્નિ, ઘીથી આહુતિ અપાય ત્યારે આ પુરુષને ઉપર, ઉત્તમ માર્ગે લઈ જા. તેને સમાન તેજસ્વિતાથી જોડ; અને પ્રજાથી તેને બહુસમૃદ્ધ કર.

इन्द्रे॒मं प्र॑त॒रं कृ॑धि सजा॒ताना॑मसद् व॒शी। रा॒यस्पोषे॑ण॒ सं सृ॑ज जी॒वात॑वे ज॒रसे॑ नय
હે ઇન્દ્ર, આ પુરુષને વધુ પ્રતિષ્ઠિત કર; સમવયસ્કોમાં તે વશી, અધિપતિ બને. રાય (ધન) અને પોષણથી તેને સંયોજ; જીવવા માટે તેને આગળ દોર, જરાવસ્થા સુધી તેને નય.

यस्य॑ कृ॒ण्मो ह॒विर्गृ॒हे तम॑ग्ने वर्धया॒ त्वम्। तस्मै॒ सोमो॒ अधि॑ ब्रवद॒यं च॒ ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पतिः॑
જેના ગૃહમાં અમે હવિ (આહુતિ) કરીએ છીએ—હે અગ્નિ, તું તેને વધાર. તેને સોમએ અનુમોદનથી કહ્યું છે; અને આ બ્રહ્મણસ્પતિએ પણ.
