सोमः सुतो धारयात्यो न हित्वा सिन्धुर्न निम्नमभि वाज्यक्षाः । आ योनिं वन्यमसदत्पुनानः समिन्दुर्गोभिरसरत्समद्भिः ॥
sómaḥ sutó dhāráyā́tyo ná hitvā́ síndhur ná nímnam abhí vājī́ ákṣāḥ | ā yónim ványam asadat punānáḥ sám índur góbhir asarat sám adbhiḥ ||
Soma, pressé, s’écoule en courant; tel un coursier rapide il n’abandonne pas la voie, tel un fleuve il va vers la profondeur. Se purifiant, il s’assied dans son propre sein natal (sa source) ; la goutte, Indu, coule avec les vaches—les rayons de lumière—et avec les eaux, réunie en un seul flux.
