Sukta 10.5

Devata: R̥ta-Māyā dyad / cosmic feminine powers (enigmatic)

ऋतायिनी मायिनी सं दधाते मित्वा शिशुं जज्ञतुर्वर्धयन्ती । विश्वस्य नाभिं चरतो ध्रुवस्य कवेश्चित्तन्तुं मनसा वियन्तः ॥

ṛtāyínī māyínī sáṃ dadhāte mitvā́ śíśuṃ jajñatúr vardháyantī | víśvasya nā́bhiṃ cárato dhruvásya kavéś cit tántuṃ mánasā vi-yántaḥ ||

Celle qui va selon Ṛta et celle qui œuvre par Māyā s’unissent ; après avoir mesuré, elles enfantent le nouveau-né et le font croître. Elles se meuvent autour du nombril du Tout, du Stable ; et même le fil du kavi, elles le tissent par la pensée.
