Sukta 1.72
विद्वाँ अग्ने वयुनानि क्षितीनां व्यानुषक्छुरुधो जीवसे धाः । अन्तर्विद्वाँ अध्वनो देवयानानतन्द्रो दूतो अभवो हविर्वाट् ॥
vidvā́ṃ agne vayúnāni kṣitīnā́ṃ vy ā́nuṣak churúdho jīváse dhāḥ | antár-vidvā́ṃ ádhvano deva-yā́nān átandro dūtó abhavo havir-vā́ṭ ||
Sachant, ô Agni, les agencements des demeures humaines, tu as — fil après fil — disposé et ouvert les larges portes pour la vie. Connaissant au-dedans les chemins qui mènent aux dieux, infatigable, tu devins le messager, le porteur de l’offrande (havir-vāṭ).
