सोमः सुतो धारयात्यो न हित्वा सिन्धुर्न निम्नमभि वाज्यक्षाः । आ योनिं वन्यमसदत्पुनानः समिन्दुर्गोभिरसरत्समद्भिः ॥
sómaḥ sutó dhāráyā́tyo ná hitvā́ síndhur ná nímnam abhí vājī́ ákṣāḥ | ā yónim ványam asadat punānáḥ sám índur góbhir asarat sám adbhiḥ ||
Soma, exprimido, se derrama en la corriente; como corcel veloz no abandona la senda, como río avanza hacia lo hondo. Purificándose, se asienta en su propio seno natal (su fuente); la gota, Indu, fluye junto con las vacas—los rayos de luz—y con las aguas, unida en un solo curso.
