तानीदहानि बहुलान्यासन्या प्राचीनमुदिता सूर्यस्य । यतः परि जार इवाचरन्त्युषो ददृक्षे न पुनर्यतीव ॥
tā́nīd áhāni bahulā́ny āsan yā́ prācī́nam úd itā́ sū́ryasya | yatáḥ pári jārá iva ā́caranty uṣó dadṛkṣé ná púnar yatī́va ||
En verdad, muchos fueron aquellos días en que ella se alzaba en el oriente con el Sol. Desde allí Uṣas recorre en torno, como un amante que busca; se la ve una y otra vez—y, sin embargo, no vuelve como la misma que antes se fue.
