Sukta 5.41
इति चिन्नु प्रजायै पशुमत्यै देवासो वनते मर्त्यो व आ देवासो वनते मर्त्यो वः । अत्रा शिवां तन्वो धासिमस्या जरां चिन्मे निॠतिर्जग्रसीत ॥
íti cin nu pra-jā́yai paśu-mátyai devā́so vánate mártyo va ā́ devāso vanate mártyo vaḥ | átrā śivā́ṃ tanvò dhāsím asyā́ jarā́ṃ cin me níḥṛtiḥ jagrasīt ||
Así, en verdad—por la prole y por la plenitud de los rebaños—un mortal os gana, oh dioses; sí, un mortal os gana. Aquí podamos asentar una forma benigna de nuestro ser encarnado; que Nirr̥ti, el Poder de la Disolución, no devore ni siquiera mi vejez y mi decaimiento.
