Sukta 5.34
आ यः सोमेन जठरमपिप्रतामन्दत मघवा मध्वो अन्धसः । यदीं मृगाय हन्तवे महावधः सहस्रभृष्टिमुशना वधं यमत् ॥
ā́ yaḥ sómena jaṭháram apípratām ámandata maghávā́ mádhvo ándhasaḥ | yadī́ṃ mṛgā́ya hántave mahā́vadhaḥ sahásrabhṛṣṭim uśánā́ vadháṃ yámat ||
Aquel que, con Soma, llenó el vientre y se alegró —el generoso— con el trago meloso: cuando quiso abatir a la «bestia salvaje» que se resiste con el arma de mil filos, entonces el vidente Uśanas le fijó esa fuerza de matar.
