Sukta 1.101
यो व्यंसं जाहृषाणेन मन्युना यः शम्बरं यो अहन्पिप्रुमव्रतम् । इन्द्रो यः शुष्णमशुषं न्यावृणङ्मरुत्वन्तं सख्याय हवामहे ॥
yó vyàṁsaṁ jahṛṣāṇéna manyúnā yáḥ śámbaraṁ yó áhann píprum avratám | índro yáḥ śúṣṇam aśúṣaṁ ny ā́vṛṇan marútvantaṁ sakhyā́ya havāmahe ||
A aquel que con ira exultante hirió a Vyāṃsa, que abatió a Śambara, que mató a Pipru, el sin ley; a Indra que encerró a Śuṣṇa, la potencia de la sequía que retiene (las aguas) — a ese Indra, con los Maruts, lo invocamos para la amistad y el compañerismo.
