AV 20.44 es una breve indra-stuti (tomada del RV) que entroniza a Indra como samrāj, el poder soberano que hace eficaz la alabanza y la convierte en śravas (renombre) y vāja (victoria/botín). A lo largo de tres versos concisos pasa de proclamar el señorío de Indra a afirmar que todos los himnos hallan en él deleite y éxito, y concluye con un llamamiento directo al triunfo en la contienda y a la obtención. A él lo invoco con alabanza bien labrada: al Rey más antiguo, al diestro en la refriega; al gran vencedor del premio, para nuestras ganancias.
