FAQs

It reflects Purāṇic methods of describing space through traditional units (yojana) and regional divisions (janapada), offering evidence for how early Sanskrit texts conceptualized large-scale geography and territorial organization.

No single named location is specified in this verse; it provides a generalized description of extent and the presence of multiple janapadas, likely as part of a broader regional or cosmographic account in the surrounding passage.

The verse primarily functions descriptively rather than normatively; its philosophical implication is an ordered view of inhabited space—measured, differentiated into regions, and framed as culturally significant geography.
