वेदमूर्तिरहं विप्र नान्यशास्त्रार्थवादिभिः । ज्ञायते मत्स्वरूपं तु मुक्त्वा वेदमनादिमत् । वेदवेद्योऽस्मि विप्रर्षे ब्राह्मणैश्च विशेषतः ॥ ७०.४४ ॥
vedamūrtir ahaṃ vipra nānyaśāstrārthavādibhiḥ | jñāyate matsvarūpaṃ tu muktvā vedam anādimat | vedavedyo 'smi viprarṣe brāhmaṇaiś ca viśeṣataḥ || 70.44 ||
„O Brāhmaṇa, ich bin als Veda verkörpert. Mein eigenes Wesen wird von denen, die nur die Bedeutungen anderer Lehrschriften auslegen und dabei den anfangslosen Veda beiseitelassen, nicht wahrhaft erkannt. O Bester der Weisen, ich bin durch den Veda zu erkennen — besonders durch die Brāhmaṇas.“
