न शङ्खेन पिबेत्तोयं न हन्यान्मत्स्यसूकरौ ॥ एकादश्यां न भुञ्जीत पक्षयोरुभयोऽपि

Man soll Wasser nicht aus einer Muschel (Śaṅkha) trinken und weder Fische noch Eber töten. Am Ekādaśī soll man nicht essen—weder in der zunehmenden noch in der abnehmenden Monatshälfte.
