Ritual Procedure for Śrāddha: Sequence, Eligibility, and Offerings to Ancestors

एवं श्राद्धं बुधः कुर्यात् पितृयं मातामहं तथा । श्राद्धैराप्यायिता दद्युः सर्वान् कामान् पितामहाः ॥ १४.४३ ॥

evaṁ śrāddhaṁ budhaḥ kuryāt pitryaṁ mātāmahaṁ tathā | śrāddhair āpyāyitā dadyuḥ sarvān kāmān pitāmahāḥ || 14.43 ||

So soll der Weise das śrāddha-Ritual vollziehen — sowohl die Ahnenopfergabe (pitṛya) als auch die für die mütterlichen Großväter (mātāmaha). Durch die śrāddha-Gaben gesättigt und gestärkt, werden die Vorfahren alle gewünschten Ziele gewähren.
