Darüber, o Schönhüftige, will ich ein mir teures Sühneritual verkünden; dadurch wird derjenige, der in Verblendung die Kultpauke schlug, von solcher Schuld befreit.
Varāha (default instructor voice in Varāha–Pṛthivī dialogue framework)
It reflects a Purāṇic mode of integrating dharma-śāstra style expiations into narrative dialogue, illustrating how ritual-ethical regulation circulated beyond strictly legal treatises.
No specific location is named in this verse; the focus is on an act (bherī-tāḍana) and its expiation.
Wrongdoing—especially acts done under confusion or delusion—is treated as remediable through prescribed expiatory discipline.
