Description of the Brāhmaṇa Initiation Procedure
Dīkṣā-sūtra
कन्यां दत्त्वा पुनस्तांस्तु कर्मणा नोपपादयेत् ॥ अष्टौ पितृगणास्तेन हिंसिता नात्र संशयः ॥
kanyāṃ dattvā punas tāṃs tu karmaṇā nopapādayet || aṣṭau pitṛgaṇās tena hiṃsitā nātra saṃśayaḥ ||
Hat man eine Jungfrau (zur Ehe) gegeben, soll man dies nicht nachträglich durch rituelle Handlungen rückgängig machen; dadurch werden acht Gruppen der Ahnen verletzt—daran besteht kein Zweifel.
