न पठेद्गोघ्नमध्ये तु वेदवेदाङ्गनिन्दके ॥ न पठेद्गुरुविद्विष्टे न पठेच्छास्त्रदूषके

na paṭhedgoghnamadhye tu vedavedāṅganindake || na paṭhedguruvidviṣṭe na paṭhecchāstradūṣake

Man soll nicht inmitten eines Kuhschlächters rezitieren, noch in Gegenwart eines Verächters der Veden und der Vedāṅgas; man soll nicht vor einem dem Lehrer feindlich Gesinnten rezitieren, noch vor einem, der die Śāstras verunglimpft.
