An Exposition on the Causes of Happiness and Suffering
कृत्वा सायाह्निकं कर्म ततः सौख्यतरं नु किम् ॥ देवतातिथिमर्त्यानां त्यक्त्वा चान्नं वसुन्धरे ॥
kṛtvā sāyāhnikaṃ karma tataḥ saukhyataraṃ nu kim || devatātithimartyānāṃ tyaktvā cānnaṃ vasundhare ||
Nachdem man das abendliche Ritual vollzogen hat, was könnte dem Wohlergehen mehr zuträglich sein als dies? Und, o Vasundharā, nachdem man Speise für die Gottheiten, die Gäste und die Menschen beiseitegelegt hat—welche Übung wäre heilsamer?
