The Threefold Division by the Guṇas, the Deities’ Attainment of Worship, and the Opening of the Durjaya Episode

Devāḥ (the gods)
It exemplifies a common Purāṇic literary mode: divine speakers (devāḥ) offering formal praise (stuti) to a supreme protector figure, reflecting the text’s devotional and cosmological framing rather than a purely narrative report.
No specific geographic site is named in this verse; it instead contrasts realms in general terms (e.g., manuṣyaloka, “the human world”).
The verse foregrounds reliance on an idealized protector and the recognition of a foundational source of support—an ethical posture of humility and acknowledgment of dependency within the cosmic order.
