उताहं नक्तमुत सोम ते दिवा सख्याय बभ्र ऊधनि । घृणा तपन्तमति सूर्यं परः शकुना इव पप्तिम ॥

Transliteration

utā́haṃ náktam utá sóma te divā́ sakhyā́ya babhro ū́dhani | ghṛṇā́ tápantam áti sū́ryaṃ paráḥ śakunā́ iva paptimá ||

Translation

Und ich, bei Nacht und bei Tag, o Soma, um deiner Freundschaft willen, nehme meinen Stand auf dem dunkelfahlen Grund; doch möchte ich hinausfliegen, jenseits, am brennendheißen Sonnenrad vorbei — wie Vögel auf fernem Flug.
