Sukta 10.28
सुपर्ण इत्था नखमा सिषायावरुद्धः परिपदं न सिंहः । निरुद्धश्चिन्महिषस्तर्ष्यावान्गोधा तस्मा अयथं कर्षदेतत् ॥
suparṇá itthā nákham ā́ siṣāyā́varuddhaḥ paripádaṃ ná siṃháḥ | niruddháś cid mahiṣás tarṣyā́vān godhā́ tásmā ayátham karṣad etát ||
Selbst der Suparṇa, die hochbeflügelte Macht, wenn sie die Kralle schärft, kreist, niedergehalten, um die eigene Spur wie ein eingesperrter Löwe. Selbst der mächtige Stier, obgleich voll dürstender Kraft, vermag, gehemmt, nicht auszubrechen; darum zieht die godhā dies schief, vom rechten Lauf ab — ein Zeichen eines fehlgeleiteten Ganges.
