Transliteration

tac chrutvā vacanaṃ tasya sneha-paryākulākṣaram | samanyuḥ kauśiko vākyaṃ pratyuvāca mahīpatim ||

Translation

Als er die Worte des Königs vernahm—aus väterlicher Zuneigung gesprochen und darum im Ausdruck schwankend—gab Kauśika (Viśvāmitra), von Zorn erregt, dem Herrn der Erde zur Antwort.
