Als er so sprach, jubelten die Könige dem König freudig zu, wie Pfauen, die beim Anblick einer großen, regenbringenden Wolke rufen.
Having thus heard king Dasaratha speak, the kings acclaimed him with delight, like peacocks crying (in joy) to see thick clouds.
When leadership aligns with dharma and public good, collective joy arises naturally—like peacocks responding to the promise of rain.
Cultivates gratitude and auspicious perception (maṅgala-dṛṣṭi): recognize signs of harmony when decisions serve the common good.
Prosperity as a manifestation of ordered dharma: when leadership aligns with dharma, the world ‘responds’ harmoniously—an image of ṛta.
Rain/provision imagery recalls Vedic-Upaniṣadic food-cycle motifs (anna from rain; rain from sacrifice/ordered action), suggesting governance as sustaining the cycle.
Vṛṣṭimant mahāmegha (rain-bearing great cloud) as simile/omen
Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa 2.2.17 (peacock-cloud simile); Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa 1.5 (nature similes used to mirror emotional response)
Vedic imagery: Parjanya (rain-giver) praised as sustainer (Ṛgveda Parjanya hymns); Mahābhārata (king compared to cloud/rain in rājadharma passages)
Ayodhyākāṇḍa: public acclaim motifs around proposed abhiṣeka; later contrast with lamentation at exile
Anuṣṭup (śloka)
Joyful
Tāra (high register)
