Sukta 9
पञ्च॑पादं पि॒तरं॒ द्वाद॑शाकृतिं दि॒व आ॑हुः परे॒ अर्धे॑ पुरी॒षिण॑म्। अथे॒मे अ॒न्य उप॑रे विचक्ष॒णे स॒प्तच॑क्रे॒ षड॑र आहु॒रर्पि॑तम्
pañcapā́daṁ pitáraṁ dvādaśā́kṛtiṁ divá ā́huḥ paré árdhe purīṣíṇam | áthemé anyá úpare vicakṣaṇé saptácakre ṣáḍara āhur árpitam ||
A five-footed Father, of twelve forms, of Heaven—so they call him—in the farther half, rich in plenitude. Then these others, the discerning, in another doctrine, declare him set fast in the seven-wheeled (frame), as six-spoked.
Einen „fünffüßigen Vater“, von zwölf Gestalten, des Himmels – so nennen sie ihn – in der ferneren Hälfte, reich an Fülle. Dann erklären diese anderen, die Schauenden, in einer anderen Lehre, er sei fest eingesetzt im siebengrädrigen (Gefüge), als sechsspeichig.
