Atharva Veda 9.6.4 — Kanda 9, Anuvaka 1, Sukta 6, Mantra 4

Sukta 6

यद॑भि॒वद॑ति दी॒क्षामुपै॑ति॒ यदु॑द॒कं याच॑त्य॒पः प्र ण॑यति

yád abhívadati dīkṣā́m upáiti yád udakáṃ yā́cati apáḥ prá ṇayati

When he makes reverent address, he enters upon consecration; when he asks for water, he leads the Waters forth.

Wenn er ehrfürchtig anspricht, tritt er in die Weihe (dīkṣā) ein; wenn er um Wasser bittet, führt er die Wasser (āpas) hervor.
