Suktas in Anuvaka 1

Sukta 1

Sukta 2

Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (attributed to Atharvan/Angiras line in ancillary indices; specific r̥ṣi uncertain for this isolated verse) | Devata: Ātman / Atharvan as ritual progenitor | 1 Mantras

Sukta 3

Rishi: Atharvanic tradition | Devata: Ātman (as radiance/ghṛṇi and sustaining support) | 1 Mantras

Sukta 4

Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (unspecified here) | Devata: Vāyu (and Ātman as underlying principle) | 1 Mantras

Sukta 5

Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (unspecified here) | Devata: Yajña / Devas / Sādhyas (theological focus) | 5 Mantras

Sukta 6

Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (hymn to Aditi/Earth-Heaven; r̥ṣi attribution varies by anukramaṇī) | Devata: Pṛthivī, Dyāus, Aditi (protective triad; ‘divine boat’ as salvific power) | 4 Mantras

Sukta 7

Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (Āditya-stuti; anukramaṇī-dependent) | Devata: Ādityas (collective) | 1 Mantras

Sukta 8

Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (anukramaṇī-dependent) | Devata: Bṛhaspati (as leader and remover of obstacles); secondarily Earth/territory | 1 Mantras

Sukta 9

Rishi: Traditionally connected with Pūṣan-invocations; specific r̥ṣi attribution varies by anukramaṇī tradition for AV 7.9. | Devata: Pūṣan | 4 Mantras

Sukta 10

Rishi: As per AV 7.10 anukramaṇī tradition (variable) | Devata: Sarasvatī | 1 Mantras
