এই সূক্ত বর্তমান যুগের যজ্ঞের বৈধতাকে এক আদিম আদর্শে প্রতিষ্ঠা করে: দেবতারাই প্রথম “যজ্ঞকে যজ্ঞ” করেছিলেন; তাতে ধর্ম সর্বপ্রথম বিধানরূপে স্থাপিত হয় এবং তাঁরা সেই স্বর্গ লাভ করেন যেখানে প্রাচীন সাধ্যগণ অধিষ্ঠান করেন। যথাযথ আচার-অনুষ্ঠানকে এটি মুক্তিমুখী ঊর্ধ্বগমন (পরম ব্যোম) এবং সাফল্যের দৃশ্যমান লক্ষণ—সূর্যোদয়ে শুভ দর্শন—এর সঙ্গে যুক্ত করে; আবার সতর্ক করে যে সত্য উপলব্ধি ব্যতীত যজ্ঞ বিভ্রান্ত ও লক্ষ্যচ্যুত হয়ে নিষ্ফল হতে পারে।

आत्मा। य॒ज्ञेन॑ य॒ज्ञम॑यजन्त दे॒वास्तानि॒ धर्मा॑णि प्रथ॒मान्या॑सन्। ते ह॒ नाकं॑ महि॒मानः॑ सचन्त॒ यत्र॒ पूर्वे॑ सा॒ध्याः सन्ति॑ दे॒वाः
আত্মা—যজ্ঞ দ্বারা দেবগণ যজ্ঞেরই যজন করলেন; সেই ধর্ম (বিধি-নিয়ম) প্রথম প্রতিষ্ঠিত হল। তাঁরা নিশ্চয়ই নিজেদের মহিমায় স্বর্গে উপনীত হলেন, যেখানে পূর্বতন সাধ্য—দেবগণ—অবস্থান করেন।

य॒ज्ञो ब॑भूव॒ स आ ब॑भूव॒ स प्र ज॑ज्ञे॒ स उ॑ वावृधे॒ पुनः॑ । स दे॒वाना॒मधि॑पतिर्बभूव॒ सो अ॒स्मासु॒ द्रवि॑ण॒मा द॑धातु
যজ্ঞ উদ্ভূত হল; হ্যাঁ, সে সম্পূর্ণরূপে প্রকাশ পেল; সে জন্ম নিল, এবং পুনরায় নিশ্চয়ই বৃদ্ধি পেল। সে দেবগণের অধিপতি হল; সে আমাদের মধ্যে দ্রবিণ (ধন-সম্পদ) স্থাপন করুক, আমাদের কাছে এখানে পদার্থ/সমৃদ্ধি দান করুক।

यद् दे॒वा दे॒वान् ह॒विषाय॑ज॒न्ताम॑र्त्या॒न् मन॒साम॑र्त्येन । मदे॑म॒ तत्र॑ पर॒मे व्योऽम॒न् पश्ये॑म॒ तदुदि॑तौ॒ सूर्य॑स्य
যখন দেবগণ হবি দ্বারা দেবগণের যজ্ঞ করলেন—অমর্ত্যগণ অমর্ত্য মন দিয়ে—তখন আমরা সেই পরম ব্যোমে আনন্দিত হই; এবং সূর্যোদয়ের সময় সেই (দিব্য) দর্শন করতে পারি।

यत् पुरु॑षेण ह॒विषा॑ य॒ज्ञं दे॒वा अत॑न्वत । अस्ति॒ नु तस्मा॒दोजी॑यो॒ यद् विहव्ये॑नेजि॒रे
যখন পুরুষের সঙ্গে, হবি (আহুতি) দ্বারা, দেবগণ যজ্ঞকে বিস্তার করলেন—তবে তার থেকেও অধিক বলবান একটি বিষয় আছে: যে তাঁরা বহুবিধ হব্্য (নানাবিধ আহুতি) দিয়ে উপাসনা করলেন।

मु॒ग्धा दे॒वा उ॒त शुनाय॑जन्तो॒त गोरङ्गैः॑ पुरु॒धाय॑जन्त । य इ॒मं य॒ज्ञं मन॑सा चि॒केत॒ प्र णो॑ वोच॑स्तमि॑हेह ब्र॑वः
দেবগণ বিমূঢ় হয়েছিলেন; তাঁরা কুকুরের জন্যও যজন করতেন, আর গোর অঙ্গপ্রত্যঙ্গ দিয়েও নানাভাবে যজন করতেন। যে মন দিয়ে এই যজ্ঞকে বুঝেছে—সে আমাদের কাছে তা প্রকাশ করুক; এখানেই, এই স্থানেই, উচ্চস্বরে বলুক।
It teaches that yajña is a primordial cosmic principle: the Gods themselves performed it first, thereby establishing dharma and attaining heaven. Human ritual succeeds when it follows that divine precedent in both act and understanding.
Sunrise functions as a revelatory marker: the hymn asks to ‘behold that at the Sun’s uprising,’ meaning an auspicious confirmation of right order and successful attainment of the ‘highest space’ associated with the perfected rite.
It is a cautionary exemplum: sacrifice can be misdirected when done without true comprehension. The hymn therefore insists that whoever understands the real yajña must clearly teach and proclaim it, protecting the rite from error.
