অথর্ববেদ ৬.৬৫ একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত যুদ্ধাত্মক-অপোত্রায়িক (রক্ষামন্ত্র) আকর্ষণ, যা জাদুবলে শত্রুর ক্রোধ দমন করে, তার আঘাত-ক্ষমতা অকার্যকর করে (তাকে “হাতহীন” করে) এবং তাকে পশ্চাদপসরণে বাধ্য করে। এর কার্যকারিতা স্থাপিত হয় এক পৌরাণিক দৃষ্টান্তে—ইন্দ্রের আদিকালে অসুরদের নিরস্ত্রীকরণ—তারপর সেই মুক্ত শক্তিকে বিজয় ও যজমান/পৃষ্ঠপোষকের ধন-সমৃদ্ধির দিকে প্রবাহিত করে।

शत्रुनाशनम्। अव॑ म॒न्युरवाय॒ताव॑ बा॒हू म॑नो॒युजा॑ । परा॑शर॒ त्वं तेषां॒ परा॑ञ्चं॒ शुष्म॑मर्द॒याधा॑ नो र॒यिमा कृधि
তাদের ক্রোধ নীচে নেমে যাক; মন-সংযুক্ত তাদের বাহুও নীচে নত হোক। তুমি তাদের দূরে ঠেলে দাও; পশ্চাদ্মুখী তাদের বলকে চূর্ণ করো; আর তারপর আমাদের জন্য ধন-সমৃদ্ধি স্থাপন করো।

निर्ह॑स्तेभ्यो नैर्ह॒स्तं यं दे॑वाः॒ शरु॒मस्य॑थ । वृ॒श्चामि॒ शत्रू॑णां बा॒हून॒नेन॑ ह॒विषा॒हम्
হে দেবগণ, যখন তোমরা প্রক্ষেপ্য (শরু) নিক্ষেপ কর, তখন হাতওয়ালাদের হাতহীন করে দাও। এই হবিষা দ্বারা আমি শত্রুদের বাহু কেটে দিই—আমি নিজেই।

इन्द्र॑श्चकार प्रथ॒मं नै॑र्ह॒स्तमसु॑रेभ्यः । जय॑न्तु सत्वा॑नो॒ मम॑ स्थि॒रेणेन्द्रे॑ण मे॒दिना॑
ইন্দ্র প্রথমে অসুরদের হাতহীন করলেন। স্থির, পুষ্টিদায়ক ইন্দ্রের বল দ্বারা আমার বীর সাথিরা জয়ী হোক।
