অথৰ্ববেদ ৬.৫৭ এটা সংক্ষিপ্ত জল-চিকিৎসাৰ আৰোগ্য-মন্ত্ৰ; ইয়াত তীক্ষ্ণ, বিধ্ধকাৰী পীড়াক ৰুদ্ৰৰ “বাণ” বুলি ধৰা হৈছে আৰু অভিষিক্ত ঔষধীয় জল (জালাষ)ৰে তাক প্ৰতিহত কৰা হয়। পুনঃপুনঃ ছিটিয়াই দিয়া আৰু শেষত এটা সাৰ্বজনীন আশীৰ্বাদৰ জৰিয়তে, এই সূক্তে নিৰ্দিষ্ট বেদনাৰ পৰা চিকিৎসাৰ ক্ষেত্ৰ বিস্তাৰ কৰি সৰ্বব্যাপী সুৰক্ষালৈ লৈ যায়—য’ত পৃথিৱী আৰু জল নিজেই ভেষজ (প্ৰতিকাৰ) হৈ উঠে।

जलचिकित्सा। इ॒दमिद् वा उ॑ भेष॒जमि॒दं रु॒द्रस्य॑ भेष॒जम्। येनेषु॒मेक॑तेजनां श॒तश॑ल्यामप॒ब्रव॑त्
ইয়াই নিশ্চয় ভেষজ—ইয়াই ৰুদ্ৰৰ ভেষজ—যাৰ দ্বাৰা তেওঁ তীক্ষ্ণ-অগ্ৰ, শত-কাঁটাযুক্ত বাণটোক দূৰলৈ খেদাই দিয়ে।

जा॒ला॒षेणा॒भि षि॑ञ्चत जालाषेणोप॑ सिञ्चत । जा॒ला॒षमु॒ग्रं भे॑ष॒जं तेन॑ नो मृड जी॒वसे॑
জালাষেৰে আমাৰ ওপৰত ছিটিয়াও; জালাষেৰে আমাৰ কাষে-কাষে ছিটিয়াও। জালাষা এক উগ্ৰ ভেষজ; সেইদ্বাৰা জীৱনৰ বাবে আমাৰ প্ৰতি কৃপালু হওক।

शं च॑ नो॒ मय॑श्च नो॒ मा च॑ नः॒ किं च॒नाम॑मत्। क्ष॒मा रपो॒ विश्वं॑ नो अस्तु भेष॒जं सर्वं॑ नो अस्तु भेष॒जम्
আমালৈ মঙ্গল হওক, আমালৈ আনন্দ হওক; আৰু একোৱেই যেন আমাক বিন্দুমাত্ৰো ক্ষতি নকৰে। পৃথিৱী আৰু জলসমূহ—সকলো আমাৰ বাবে ভেষজ হওক; ব্যতিক্ৰম নোহোৱাকৈ সকলো আমাৰ বাবে ভেষজ হওক।
