आस्तां ते स्तिमिते सेने रक्ष्यमाणे परस्परम्‌ । सम्प्रसुप्ते यथा नक्तं वनराज्यौ सुपुष्पिते

Transliteration

āstāṁ te stimitē sēnē rakṣyamāṇē parasparam | samprasuptē yathā naktaṁ vanarājyau supuṣpitē, āptair āśu parijñātaṁ bhāradvāja-cikīrṣitam ||

Translation

సంజయుడు అన్నాడు—రాజా! ఆ రెండు సేనలు పరస్పరం కాపాడుకుంటూ ఎదురెదురుగా నిశ్చలంగా నిలిచియుండనివ్వండి. అవి రాత్రివేళ నిద్రించినట్లుగా, పుష్పసమృద్ధమైన రెండు అరణ్యశ్రేణుల వలె కనిపించాయి. ఇదివరకే విశ్వసనీయ సమాచారదాతల ద్వారా భారద్వాజపుత్రుడు ద్రోణుడు ఏం చేయదలచుకున్నాడో త్వరగా, స్పష్టంగా తెలిసిపోయింది.
