Sukta 8.27
वयं तद्वः सम्राज आ वृणीमहे पुत्रो न बहुपाय्यम् । अश्याम तदादित्या जुह्वतो हविर्येन वस्योऽनशामहै ॥
vayáṃ tád vaḥ samrā́ja ā́ vṛṇīmahe putró ná bahu-pā́yyam | aśyā́ma tád ādityā́ júhvato havír yéna vásyo ’náśāmahai ||
Isso escolhemos de vós, ó Potências soberanas, como um filho escolhe o auxílio que muito protege. Possamos alcançá-lo, ó Ādityas, ao verter o havis; por essa oferenda possamos ter parte no bem melhor e mais luminoso.
