Manthara’s Provocation and the Recalling of Two Boons

Ó filha de Aśvapati, entra hoje na câmara da ira; como quem está verdadeiramente enfurecida, deita-te ali no chão, sem adornos e com vestes sujas.
O Kaikeyi ,daughter of Ashwapati enter now the chamber of wrath like one in angry mood, wearing soiled garments and lie down on the bare ground.
It demonstrates the adharma of emotional coercion—using performative anger and social pressure to bend another’s will rather than seeking truth and fairness.
Mantharā coaches Kaikeyī in a courtly tactic: the ‘krodhāgāra’ protest to compel Daśaratha.
The implied virtue is self-control (dama); the verse shows its opposite being strategically cultivated.
