Himne rakṣoghna satu-mantra ini melindungi perjalanan menaik Sang Surya, dengan mengenal pasti kuasa-kuasa bermusuhan yang cuba “mencederakan” atau menghalang Sūrya ketika ia mendaki. Dengan menyatukan Sūrya dengan Agni Jātavedas—cahaya sebagai kuasa api yang sedar—himne ini memerintahkan para penyerang itu ditumpaskan oleh bahang (haras) dan nyala (arciṣ), menyingkirkan segala rintangan dan memulihkan pendakian yang tidak terhalang.
It is used to repel hostile or obstructive forces—especially those that ‘block ascent’—by invoking the Sun’s radiance as a fierce, protective fire-power (Jātavedas).
Because the hymn treats sunlight and fire as one luminous power: Sūrya’s ascent is protected by Agni’s knowing, burning force that can strike down malign beings.
