Devi Upanishad 20: Verse 20
वियदाकारसंयुक्तं वीतिहोत्रसमन्वितम् । अर्धेन्दुलसितं देव्या बीजं सर्वार्थसाधकम् ॥
एवमेकाक्षरं मन्त्रं यतयः शुद्धचेतसः । ध्यायन्ति परमानन्दमया ज्ञानाम्बुराशयः ॥२०–२१॥
वियत्-आकार-संयुक्तम् । वीति-होत्र-समन्वितम् । अर्ध-इन्दु-लसितम् । देव्याः । बीजम् । सर्व-अर्थ-साधकम् ।
एवम् । एक-अक्षरम् । मन्त्रम् । यतयः । शुद्ध-चेतसः । ध्यायन्ति । परम-आनन्द-मयाः । ज्ञान-अम्बु-राशयः ।
viyad-ākāra-saṃyuktaṃ vīti-hotra-samanvitam | ardhendu-lasitaṃ devyā bījaṃ sarvārtha-sādhakam ||
evam ekākṣaraṃ mantraṃ yatayaḥ śuddha-cetasaḥ | dhyāyanti paramānanda-mayā jñānāmbu-rāśayaḥ ||20–21||
Le bīja de la Déesse—qui accomplit tous les buts—est uni à la forme de « viyat », pourvu de « vītihotra », et resplendit du croissant de lune. Ainsi le mantra d’une seule syllabe est médité par les ascètes au mental purifié, faits de béatitude suprême, océans des eaux de la connaissance.
The seed (bīja) of the Goddess—accomplishing all aims—is joined with the form of ‘viyat’ and endowed with ‘vītihotra’, and is resplendent with the half-moon. Thus the one-syllabled mantra is meditated upon by ascetics of purified mind, who are made of supreme bliss, oceans of the waters of knowledge.
