Sukta 10.13
देवेभ्यः कमवृणीत मृत्युं प्रजायै कममृतं नावृणीत । बृहस्पतिं यज्ञमकृण्वत ऋषिं प्रियां यमस्तन्वं प्रारिरेचीत् ॥
devébhyaḥ kám avṛṇīta mṛtyúṃ pra-jā́yai kám amṛ́taṃ ná avṛṇīta | bṛ́haspátiṃ yajñám akṛṇvata ṛ́ṣiṃ priyā́ṃ yámas tanváṃ prá arirecīt ||
Qui choisit-il parmi les dieux pour la mort, et qui, pour la descendance, ne choisit-il pas pour l’immortalité ? Bṛhaspati, ils le firent sacrifice, le ṛṣi bien-aimé ; Yama étendit au-dehors son corps — établissant la trame mortelle comme le champ où l’œuvre sacrée peut s’accomplir et être dépassée.
