What is non-self, unreal, and trifling—what could illumine That (Self)? The Vedas, śāstras, Purāṇas, and all beings too become meaningful through That; what could make the Knower of that (Self) manifest? Having set aside hunger and bodily pain, a child plays with an object; so too the knower delights—without possessiveness, without ego, happy. Moving among objects, taking the form of desirelessness, the solitary sage wanders.

Ātman as self-luminous (svayaṃ-prakāśa); jīvanmukti; vairāgyaMahavakya: Supports ‘ayam ātmā brahma’ by asserting the Self as the self-revealing ground that gives meaning to all pramāṇas and objects; also aligns with ‘prajñānam brahma’ (Brahman as consciousness/knower).AtharvaChandas: Anuṣṭubh (predominant śloka meter)
