Este breve himno protector de tradición atharvánica establece alrededor de una aldea y su gente un completo «campo de intrepidez» (abhaya), invocando apoyos cósmicos —Cielo y Tierra, el espacio intermedio, Soma, Savitar y los Siete Ṛṣi. Luego se dirige a Indra para volver a la comunidad «sin enemigos» en todas las direcciones, desviando a la vez la ira hostil lejos del asentamiento. El himno funciona como un sello apotropaico compacto (dig-bandhana) que se expande del orden cósmico a la seguridad local.

¡Ausencia de temor! Que el Cielo y la Tierra sean aquí para nosotros ausencia de temor; que Soma, que Savitar nos otorguen ausencia de temor. Que el vasto espacio intermedio sea para nosotros ausencia de temor; y, por la oblación de los Siete Rishis, que haya ausencia de temor para nosotros.

अ॒स्मै ग्रामा॑य प्र॒दिश॒श्चत॑स्र॒ ऊर्जं॑ सुभू॒तं स्व॒स्ति स॑वि॒ता नः॑ कृणोतु । अ॒श॒त्र्विन्द्रो॒ अभ॑यं नः कृणोत्व॒न्यत्र॒ राज्ञा॑म॒भि या॑तु म॒न्युः
Para esta aldea nuestra — en las cuatro direcciones — que Savitar nos haga bienestar: fuerza nutritiva, buen existir, dicha. Que Indra, el que derriba enemigos, nos haga ausencia de temor; y que la ira se vaya a otra parte, lejos de los reyes.

अ॒न॒मि॒त्रं नो॑ अध॒राद॑नमि॒त्रं न॑ उत्त॒रात्। इन्द्रा॑नमि॒त्रं नः॑ प॒श्चाद॑नमि॒त्रं पु॒रस्कृ॑धि
Sin enemigo para nosotros desde abajo, sin enemigo para nosotros desde arriba; oh Indra, sin enemigo para nosotros por detrás; sin enemigo colócanos al frente.
