AVŚ 5.9 es un conjunto compacto, de tradición atharvánica, de ofrendas svāhā de tipo yajus que «asignan» el yo vital y la intención protectora a la esfera celeste (Dyaus), estableciendo un amparo cósmico. Culmina en una fórmula expansiva de elevación que alza vida, fuerza, pensamiento y facultades, expulsa la kṛtyā (hechicería) y el daño ya realizado, e instala en el yo a guardianes de la vida en pareja.

El Sol es mi ojo; el Viento, mi aliento; el espacio intermedio (antarikṣa), mi ser; la Tierra, mi cuerpo. Por nombre soy Astṛta: eso soy; y así me asiento firmemente en el Cielo y en la Tierra — para guarda, para protección.

उदायु॒रुद् बल॒मुत् कृ॒तमुत् कृ॒त्यामुन्म॑नी॒षामुदि॑न्द्रि॒यम्। आयु॑ष्कृ॒दायु॑ष्पत्नी॒ स्वधा॑वन्तौ गो॒पा मे॑ स्तं गोपा॒यतं॑ मा । आ॒त्म॒सदौ॑ मे स्तं॒ मा॑ हिंसिष्टम्
Que se alce mi vida, que se alce mi fuerza; que se eleve y se aparte el daño hecho, que se eleve y se aparte la hechicería (kṛtyā); que se alce mi pensamiento, que se alce mi vigor de los sentidos (indriya). Vosotros dos —Hacedor de vida y Consorte de la Vida, dotados de svadhā— sed mis guardianes; guardadme. Vosotros que moráis en mi Ātman, sed míos; no me hagáis daño.
