Atharva Veda 4.31.2: Kanda 4, Anuvaka 4, Sukta 31, Mantra 2

Sukta 31

agnír iva manyo tviṣitáḥ sahasva senānī́r naḥ sahure hū́ta edhi | hatvā́ya śátrūn ví bhajasva véda ójo mimānáḥ ví mṛ́dho nudasva

Like Agni, O Manyu, aflame, be strong: as our commander, invoked, wax thou for conquest. For slaying the foes, divide them asunder—thou knowest—meting out might; drive off the hostile press.

Rishi: Manyu-hymn tradition (exact r̥ṣi not recoverable here)

Devata: Manyu (Wrath), with Agni as simile and energizing analogue

Chandas: Triṣṭubh (probable; requires confirmation)

Primary: vira

Secondary: raudra
