What the texts say

In the Devi Bhagavatam, Radha, called Radhika there, became dearer to Krishna than his own life through her immense love and service to Shakti, the divine power. Devi Bhagavatam 9.8.93 The Devi Bhagavatam also names Radha among the fivefold forms of Prakriti, the creative Nature, together with the goddesses Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati and Savitri. Devi Bhagavatam 9.1.1 It adds that when Mula Prakriti, the primal Nature, divided in two, Lakshmi came from her left half and Radha from her right. Devi Bhagavatam 9.2.54 In the Padma Purana, Radha, Vrishabhanu's daughter, is born in his sacrificial ground and is seen there radiant in a divine form. Padma Purana 4.7.41, 4.7.11 The same Purana tells of devotees who resolve to keep her observance on the bright eighth day of Bhadra, the day of her birth. Padma Purana 4.7.22
