Miscellaneous Hymns
A supplementary collection of hymns covering healing, charms, philosophy, and ritual.
8 anuvakas (sections) to explore.
Its contents are widely regarded as a later-collected compendium that supplements earlier layers, bringing together practical charm-healing materials alongside reflective hymns (notably on Kāla and Vāc) in a distinct, anthology-like book.
The dominant aim is stabilized well-being—śānti, protection, and wholeness—achieved through mantra as a protective enclosure, consecrated media (maṇi, darbha, gold, garments), and rites for prosperity, healing, and complete lifespan (pūrṇāyuḥ).
Two stand out: Kāla (Time) as cosmic sovereignty governing rite and life-course (19.6), and Vāc/Śruti as Vedamātā—generative, purifying speech internalized as an indwelling protector and source of order (19.8).
