Transliteration

bahuṣu pratyāsannaṃ dhārmikaṃ bharmasamarthaṃ kaniṣṭham abhāryaṃ vā

Translation

Gibt es mehrere geeignete Verwandte, so hat derjenige Vorrang, der am nächsten steht, gesetzestreu (dharma-gemäß) ist, den Haushalt erhalten kann, (gegebenenfalls) der Jüngere und/oder derjenige ohne Ehefrau.
