Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (often anonymous/Angiras-type in AV 6); specific r̥ṣi not stated in the provided excerpt.
Devata: Brahmaṇaspati (Bṛhaspati) as lord of brahman and subduer of hostile intent.
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (probable; AV 6 commonly uses anuṣṭubh in such compact charms).
AV 6.6 là một bùa chú ngắn nhằm phản kích sự thù địch, hướng sức mạnh của lời nói thiêng chống lại kẻ thù, kẻ vu khống và những kẻ tấn công ngấm ngầm đứng lên chống lại yajamāna. Bài tụng khẩn cầu Brahmaṇaspati, bậc làm chủ brahman, “khuất phục” ý đồ ác, và khẩn cầu Soma với uy lực trừng phạt nghiền nát lời nói độc hại, rút cạn sức lực của kẻ công kích, để bảo đảm an toàn nghi lễ và sự che chở trong đời sống xã hội
Mantra 1
【Diệt kẻ thù】Hỡi Brahmaṇaspati, Chúa tể của lời cầu nguyện, kẻ nào vô thần mà nổi giận chống lại chúng ta—xin Ngài khiến kẻ ấy hoàn toàn khuất phục trước ta, vì người chủ tế đang cử hành tế lễ, đang ép Soma.
Mantra 2
Hễ ai, hỡi Soma, kẻ phỉ báng, kẻ vu cáo, dám lên án chúng ta—những người đáng được lời tán dương—xin Ngài dùng lưỡi tầm sét đánh vào miệng hắn; bị nghiền nát hoàn toàn, hắn sẽ tiêu vong mà đi.
Mantra 3
It is used to protect a sacrificer or community by subduing hostile people, silencing slander/denunciation, and weakening both open and hidden attackers.
Brahmaṇaspati represents the binding authority of brahman (ritual speech) to bring enemies under control, while Soma represents consecrated power that punishes malicious speech and drains an aggressor’s strength.
The verses do not require substances; practitioners may optionally use a symbolic ‘vajra’ object (like a stone/pestle) to enact the ‘crushing’ imagery, especially in a Soma-rite setting.
