pitáraḥ páre té mā́vantu | asmín bráhmaṇy asmín kármaṇy asyā́m purodhā́yām asyā́m pratiṣṭhā́yām asyā́m cittíyām asyā́m ākū́tyām asyā́m āśíṣy asyā́m devahū́tyāṃ svā́hā

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

May the Fathers of old, the departed, protect me: in this sacred spell, in this operation; in this fore-setting, in this establishment; in this intent, in this resolve; in this benediction, in this god-invocation—Svāhā!

Translation

ప్రాచీనులు, పరలోకగత పితరులు—వారు నన్ను రక్షించుగాక. ఈ బ్రహ్మంలో (పవిత్ర మంత్రంలో), ఈ కర్మంలో (అనుష్ఠాన-క్రియలో); ఈ పురోధాయాలో (ముందస్తు స్థాపనలో), ఈ ప్రతిష్ఠలో; ఈ చిత్త్యాలో (అభిప్రాయంలో), ఈ ఆకూతిలో (సంకల్పంలో); ఈ ఆశిషిలో (ఆశీర్వాదంలో), ఈ దేవహూతిలో (దేవ-ఆహ్వానంలో)—స్వాహా.
