Atharva Veda 9.5.12 — Kanda 9, Anuvaka 1, Sukta 5, Mantra 12

Sukta 5

ई॒जा॒नानां॑ सु॒कृतां॑ लो॒कमीप्स॒न् पञ्चौ॑दनं ब्र॒ह्मणे॒ऽजं द॑दाति । स व्याऽप्तिम॒भि लो॒कं ज॑यै॒तं शि॒वो॒३ऽस्मभ्यं॒ प्रति॑गृहीतो अस्तु

ījānānā́ṃ sukṛtā́ṃ lokám īpsán pañcáudanaṃ bráhmaṇe ’jáṃ dadāti | sá vy-àptím abhí lokáṃ jayáitam śivó ’smábhyaṃ práti-gṛhīto astu ||

Seeking the world of sacrificers, of the well-doing, he giveth the fivefold rice-porridge, with a goat, unto the Brahman. So may he win this world in full attainment; auspicious for us be it, when it is duly accepted.

യജ്ഞം ചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെയും സുകൃതം ചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെയും ലോകം ആഗ്രഹിച്ച് അവൻ ബ്രാഹ്മണന് പഞ്ചൗദനം സഹിതം അജം ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ഈ ലോകം പൂർണ്ണപ്രാപ്തിയോടെ ജയിക്കട്ടെ; വിധിപൂർവ്വം പ്രതിഗൃഹീതം (സ്വീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്) ആയാൽ അത് ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ശിവം (മംഗളം) ആകട്ടെ.
