Frequently Asked Questions

It praises Indra and treats sacred speech as a thunderbolt: when properly uttered, the mantra becomes strong, unshaken, and able to remove obstacles and impurity.

Soma imagery expresses energized clarity and purification. Indra is said to drive and stabilize the flow, cleansing what “clings,” which doubles as removing ritual faults and personal impediments.

Recite it for protection and strengthening—especially focusing on the verse that installs Indra “in the house” (20.137.13) and the verse that makes speech a vajra (20.137.14)—optionally with a symbolic purifying drink like water or milk.
