अमावस्या के दिन जब पुष्य, रौद्र, अर्क्ष या पुनर्वसु नक्षत्र हो, तब भी श्राद्ध करो। पितरों को सही तरह से पूजा करने से बारह साल तक शांति मिलती है।
Varāha
Right action gains potency when synchronized with cosmic rhythms (nakṣatra–tithi).
Use pañcāṅga to plan annual/occasional śrāddha on these conjunctions for sustained familial well-being.
Perform śrāddha on amāvāsyā when it coincides with Puṣya/Raudra/Ārkṣa/Punarvasu for enhanced pitṛ-tṛpti.
Duly performed, pitṛs gain satisfaction for twelve years; omission loses this amplified merit.
Varāha Purāṇa 13.13.38, 13.13.40-42 (same śrāddha-kāla sequence)
It reflects a Purāṇic synthesis of ritual timing (tithi–nakṣatra coordination) with ancestral observances, aligning popular devotional practice with calendrical astronomy found across late-ancient Sanskrit ritual literature.
No specific geographic site is named in this verse; it is primarily calendrical (tithi and nakṣatra) rather than place-based sacred geography.
The verse emphasizes conscientious remembrance and honoring of ancestors through properly timed rites, presenting this as a cultural-ethical duty linked to familial continuity and gratitude.
