Outer meaning

Where movement follows desire at will, on the triple summit, in the threefold heaven of heaven—where the worlds are full of light—there make me immortal. O Indu, flow forth all around for Indra.

Inner meaning

This describes a liberated plane where action (caraṇa) is no longer compelled by ignorance but follows the soul’s true will (anukāma). ‘Trināka’ and ‘tridiva’ indicate a triple luminous height—often read inwardly as three tiers of clarified mind (higher mind/illumined mind/intuitive mind) culminating in a summit of light-filled worlds. Soma is asked to establish the seeker in that freedom where movement is spontaneous truth-action, and existence is saturated with light.

Universal truth

True freedom is not random choice but spontaneous right action arising from illumined consciousness; when inner delight is purified, life moves according to the soul’s will in a world of clarity.

Themes

Soma-ritual, Ascent to luminous worlds, Immortality, Inner transformation through delight

Other hymns
RV 9.113.7-10, RV 1.3 (Indra and Soma), RV 3.62.10 (Gāyatrī: illumination across planes, thematic)

Family tradition

Ninth Maṇḍala’s ecstatic-illumined aspiration stream: Soma as the ladder to the luminous worlds.

Significance

The rishi articulates a hallmark of liberation: action aligned with the soul’s will in a triple luminous height—Soma as the enabler of that freedom.
