Sukta 1.32
नदं न भिन्नममुया शयानं मनो रुहाणा अति यन्त्यापः । याश्चिद्वृत्रो महिना पर्यतिष्ठत्तासामहिः पत्सुतःशीर्बभूव ॥
nadáṃ na bhinnám amuyā́ śáyānaṃ máno ruhā́ṇā áti yánty ā́paḥ | yā́ś cid vṛtró mahinā́ paryátiṣṭhat tā́sām áhiḥ patsutáḥśīr babhūva ||
जैसे किसी नदी का बंध टूट जाए, पानी उसके ऊपर से निकल जाता है जब वो वहाँ पड़ा हो। पानी ऊपर उठता है, मन में सोच आती है कि यह बढ़ रहा है। वृत्र ने अपनी ताकत से जो पानी रोक रखा था, इंद्र ने उसे छोड़ दिया। अब वो बड़ा साँप मिट्टी का ढेर बन गया।
